PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk produces metals and minerals that are essential for the advancement of human life. As an Indonesian metal and mineral mining holding company headquartered in Jakarta, Merdeka explores, extracts, and produces gold, silver, copper, and other minerals through subsidiaries spread across three islands in Indonesia. Merdeka also has a subsidiary in the field of mining construction services.
The two mining operations managed by Merdeka are the Tujuh Bukit Gold Mine in Banyuwangi, East Java; and the Wetar Copper Mine on Wetar Island, Southwest Maluku.
Merdeka is developing several projects: the Tujuh Bukit Copper Project, an underground copper mine in Banyuwangi, which is one of the largest undeveloped copper deposits in the world; and the Pani Gold Project in Gorontalo, Sulawesi, which will become one of the major primary gold mines in Indonesia.

Biodiversity Superintendent
Requirements:
- Tertiary Graduate with relevant qualifications in Environment or Earth Sciences.
- Minimum of 10 year’s professional experience related to biodiversity/environmental aspects of mineral or metal processing, or metal mining.
- Knowledge of biodiversity best practice.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and permits pertaining to the Mining Industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical, operation, administrative principles and procedures related to Environmental Management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of databases, and common office programs including MS Office, Internet.
- Have the ability to work independently.
- Willing to work in remote areas.
Job Descriptions:
- Provide environment information, advice and system implementation assistance to achieve a safe, healthy and incident free work environment at our work sites.
- Develop biodiversity best international practice, standards, management plans and oversee implementation of plans at work sites to go beyond environmental compliance.
- Identify biodiversity offset opportunities and initiatives.
- Manage biodiversity consultants and associated work streams.
- To provide Biodiversity Management support to all Sites, including Exploration Sites and Project Department’s projects or activities.
- Provide guidance, advice and assistance to Operational Site Management to expand and improve biodiversity management capacity, systems and compliance.
- To conduct auditing and inspection of biodiversity management plan implementation, area rehabilitation, and reclamation activities at work sites or designated areas.
- To contribute to Sustainability reports and relevant monthly and annual reports pertaining to Environment/Sustainability within the Group.
- Contribute to Merdeka Group achieving regulatory compliance to provide confidence in meeting our obligations for our people, business, legal, statutory, community and shareholders.
- Actively contribute to a positive teamwork environment and communicate openly and honestly at all times.
