PT Merdeka Copper Gold Mining Company is An Indonesian mining company which operates the copper and gold mining, and have a long-term expected mine life followed by processing stockpiles.
To support our Mining Operational and expansion project, we are looking for highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the following position :
Lead Quantity Surveyor
What skills and experience do you need?
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Architectural or Civil/ Structural Engineering with 12 years’ experience in the Mill Expansion Processing Plant / EPC Industry; On-site experience (Construction) is a must;
- Must have had 5 years’ experience in similar role as Lead Quantity Surveyor;
- Familiar with Project management plan & system in Mining Infrastructure activity; Have substantial experience in the Domestic, light industrial construction industry and in particular facility maintenance; Must be knowledgeable in principles, design concepts & operations of various construction field including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation; Ability to read & analyze Architectural/MEP/Structural drawings is required;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D and other Autodesk Programs, Microsoft Excel and Primavera P6 and other related Quantity Surveying Software. Good in computer applications especially excel;
- Familiar with application of ISO 9001; has experience as Internal Auditor; be able to provide reporting;
- Prior experience in evaluation claims from contractors and responding to contractors contractually;
- Experience working in P6 and establishing and reviewing baseline schedules; Experience in Quantity Take-offs; Experience in Contracts terms and conditions and applying the contract conditions to the measurement of the work; Estimating experience is beneficial;
- Possess leadership traits and organizational, scheduling & time management skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment dependent on managing multiple project timelines and schedules simultaneously; Ability to communicate well, and work productively with internal and external individuals; A commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian mining operations to world class international safety standards; Demonstrate strong conceptual skills, and capable of developing lateral and practical solutions; High level of integrity and commitment; Good analytical, conflict resolution, sound decision making skills;
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written; computer literate.
Some of your duties will include:
- Monitor, analyse, forecast and report on construction contractors installed quantities to ensure that the Contractors are paid for the actual built quantities; Write contractors’ invoices, and coordinate with relevant departments/personnel to obtain or provide the needed data (g. quantity take-offs) for correct and accurate charge of payment amounts and/or for issuing the invoices.
- Support Project Development team & personnel in quantity surveys (quantity take-offs) for the architectural items of the project (whenever needed).
- Review quantity surveying for contractors, and coordinate with relevant personnel for issuing payment invoices, or review, issue, and sign the invoices if auth
- Support Project Development team & personnel in shop drawing for the Civil aspects of the project (whenever needed).
- Meet with project’s contractors to handle any problems or conflicts for smooth flow of work operations.
- Write and submit a report, whenever required, to compare between quantity take-offs of contractors to identify any conflicts or inconsistencies; and submit Cost Control Project Development department for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Liaise with the Planning team on-site to provide needed data to support relevant decisions; and obtain needed data about subcontractors’ deals for writing and issuing clients’ invoices.
- Undertake breakdown of Variation Orders (VOs).
- Participate in final inspection and prepare “punch lists”.
- Review P6 schedule progress to ensure that invoiced amounts are in line with actual installed works.
- Supervise quantity take offs.
- Participate in the preparation of technical information for Field Change Requests and Change Orders.
- Monitor quantity growth and support Trend analysis.
