This video briefly describes the Cat® shearer automation feature “advanced motor and speed control” including cutter overload temperature compensation, speed control by thermal capacity and speed control by mechanical overload. Advanced Cat algorithm calculations, based on measured motor currents and temperature, ensure more machine uptime, higher shearer efficiency and longer service life.
