Junior Geotechnical Engineer
𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Pretoria
𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞: Permanent
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
- BEng in Civil Engineering (postgraduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering will be advantageous)
- Registered with ECSA as a Candidate Engineer
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering design
- Valid South African driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
- Assist with geotechnical engineering design and analysis on mining, tailings, and civil engineering projects
- Report to and work under the guidance of Senior Geotechnical Engineers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams comprising engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists
- Utilise geotechnical software packages such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience, DeepEX, and related tools
𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬:
- Willingness to learn and be mentored by experienced professionals
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
