While low seam heights or undulations continuously have encouraged Caterpillar to continuously refine plowing technology and methods, there was is still one situation that could bring any operation to a standstill: geological faults. But due to advanced features like incremental plowing, horizon control, and overload protection the outstanding performance of Cat® plow systems not only masters geological faults but also gives you an advantage in productivity no other mining system can offer in low or medium seams. Cat plowing technology produces up to 3,500 metric tonnes of coal per hour. It is the most effective production method in low and medium seams below 1.8 meters (71 inches).
